El Anuario de la Escuela de Historia constituye el espacio propicio para que Profesores, Auxiliares Docentes, Adscriptos y Estudiantes avanzados puedan difundir sus trabajos de investigación en los diferentes grados de avance alcanzados.
La Escuela de Historia aspira con ello a recuperar para la institución un lugar destacado en la disciplina, tanto en el ámbito local como nacional.

El personal docente de la Escuela de Historia está altamente calificado. Cuenta con 25 Doctores, 10 Magíster (6 en carrera de Doctorado), 28 Licenciados (12 en carrera de Doctorado y 3 en carrera de Maestría), 2 Profesores (finalizando Licenciatura)
Además 13 de ellos revisten como personal de CONICET como Investigadores de Carrera al 13. También hay 2 Becarios de Doctorado de CONICET y 2 Becarios de Doctorado de SECyT.

Historia Institucional

Creación de la carrera

La existencia de la Escuela de Historia se encuentra vinculada a los orígenes de otra institución de relevancia para Córdoba como es el Instituto de Estudios Americanistas.
El Instituto de Estudios Americanistas fue el motor que alentó la formación de los primeros historiadores profesionales y docentes en la enseñanza de la Historia.
El 23 de julio de 1936 el Rector Sofanor Novillo Corvalán ordenó la creación del Instituto de Estudios Americanistas “con el objeto de promover e intensificar las investigaciones de carácter histórico”. Dicho instituto tendría como material de estudio e investigación los libros, documentos y manuscritos que pertenecieron al Dr. Pablo Cabrera y los demás que se adquirieran por compra, donación o canje (art.2º). El instituto debería:

  1. Formar el catálogo de su fondo bibliográfico y documental;
  2.  Realizar investigaciones utilizando principalmente su propio material histórico;
  3. Publicar su boletín, colecciones documentales inéditas, monografías, reimpresiones etc. La imprenta de la Universidad se encargará de estas publicaciones;
  4. Suscitar y estimular las vocaciones relacionadas con la investigación histórica;
  5. Patrocinar cursos y conferencias de historia, de paleografía, de arqueología, de cartografía y demás ciencias auxiliares; de organización de archivos, de historiografía y metodología histórica;
  6. Mantener vinculaciones con institutos similares del país y del extranjero.

Las primeras autoridades del IEA fueron: Director, Dr. Enrique Martínez Paz; Miembros, Raúl A. Orgaz y Dr. Carlos R. Melo; Secretario Dr. J. Francisco V. Silva; Encargado de Publicaciones Sr. Luis Roberto Altamira, Ayudante Principal, Sr. José R. Peña. Estas personas al igual que Monseñor P. Cabrera fueron historiadores autodidactas provenientes de otras carreras universitarias que comprendieron la necesidad de iniciar la institucionalización de los estudios históricos, donde ellos mismos se profesionalizaron.
En la ordenanza de creación están las ideas motoras que se van a ramificar y articular al IEA con otros espacios académicos. Sobre la base de él surgirá más tarde el Departamento de Historia (1957), la actual Escuela de Historia (1968) y el Centro de Investigaciones de la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades (CIFFyH) que en 1987 pasó a nuclear las actividades del desaparecido Instituto de Estudios Americanistas y otros como el Instituto de Antropología, transformándolos en áreas de investigación.
En 1946 el Interventor Felipe S. Pérez en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba en uso de sus atribuciones resolvió transformar el Instituto de Humanidades (creado en 1940) en la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, la que a su vez estaría constituida por tres secciones clásicas de Filosofía, Humanidades e Historia.
Al incorporar el IEA a la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades se encamina definitivamente hacia lo que hoy es la Escuela de Historia, en otras palabras, la institucionalización y la profesionalización se establecen junto a la práctica, por medio de ordenanzas, concursos, resoluciones y reglamentos que van plasmando las reglas de juego del campo intelectual, al mismo tiempo que se desenvuelven las carreras de investigación y docencia.
En el año 1957 junto a la creación del Departamento de Historia y el traslado a la Ciudad Universitaria como nueva sede, egresaron los primeros once Licenciados de la Carrera de Historia: Miguel Héctor Villecco, Lidia Ana Boschetti, María Elisa Fajardo, Edith Norma Pérez Bressano, Victoria Narcisa Rustan, Joaquín García, Liliáns Betty Romero Cabrera, Fanny Martha Mascia de Pettigiani, Mario Andrés Bottiglieri, Marina Esther Dávila-Minuett y Teresita Marcela Domínguez López.
